Lars Kirmser's: serial numbers

If you're looking to determine how old your flute is by it's serial number, check out Lars Kirmser's site. There are a few brands (like Yamaha and Gemeinhardt for example) that aren't available, but many are. Highly recommended!

On the Gemeinhardt site at the bottom you can date your flute by serial number.

Thanks Mindy, you're right - and a good move by Gemeinhardt (though I'd have preferred a search function over a pdf download). I remember calling them several years ago to find out some info on a 33SSB flute because they hadn't made their serial numbers public.

anyhow...

Thanks again!

Thanks 'anonymous' -- yes it does look like Gemeinhardt pulled the serial number pdf from their Home page. The link for it still works and can be found here:

Thanks 'anonymous' -- Yes, you're right - the Gemeinhardt link appears now to have been pulled. However while it was active, I did download the pdf (actually spent some time trying to make it better by putting it into a spreadsheet) so I have it in case anybody is interested.

Perhaps Gemeinhardt is in the process of putting together a new serial number page? If anybody knows, please share wit us. Thanks!

I have a flute and was trying to determine its age. It is an armstrong flute. Appears to be solid silver not plated with cork leather and red velvet keys. Black hardcas with leather.Old clasps to shut it. Model # 104T2319. If you could help me. I would appreciate it very much. Included is some pictures I hope might help but hey're not very good.

Gemeinhardt has a new serial number lookup page! (unfortunately, it looks like the same difficult to use PDF as before, except with the prices removed).
